Hope and Social in your living room

Get us to your house, feed us, water us and provide us with a great reason to play and we'll do a gig in your living room. Every tour we'll try and fit a couple in if we can. To apply for your own Hope and Social gig just mail livingrooms@hopeandsocial.com with a reason why we should play and a great photo of your living room. It needs to be inspired, amusing, thought-provoking, interesting. Not just a sofa. Go and create.

We'd also ask that any photos, videos, blogs, twitters, smoke signals etc that you gather during the gig you get online and tag appropraitely so that they appear in the player on the right. If you're not sure how to do it click on the "How?" tab.

Below is a list of gigs we've done or are about to do and the photos that won...

Sue Waddington, Isle of Wight (to play)

I do feel a tad fraudulent entering your competiton as I've only VERY recently become aware of you - HOWEVER - I am now aware of you and really really like your music. My photo is of the hand carved raven in my living room here in Ventnor. Ventnor (for those in the know) is of course the centre of the known universe and is where Hyacynth Bouquet meets League of Gentlemen. Tis a quirky place all right and has a wonderful seam of magical oddness running through it which would make 'Hope and Social' mighty welcome if we were to win. Where is Ventnor? Why The Isle of Wight of course!

And what's in it for you? well...

The sea at the bottom of my garden.

A rather jolly black labradoodle puppy called Charlie

oh. . . .

And a brewery at the end of my street!

Please come and conquer Vectis!

Yours hopefully,

Susie

David and Karen, London (1/8/09)

Here is a photo of our living room. You may recognise the instruments sitting on the sofa - two as featured on Experiments and all three on H&S's debut album. Might I also mention a Gibson ES335, Yamaha 12 string electro-acoustic, Maton electro-acoustic, Dean Electro-acoustic, Aria Pro Semi-Acoustic, 2 x Marshall amps a 46" Sony TV, A SMEG fridge full of beer, a beer fridge in the basement den, and a view to die for??

All we need now is the music and we're ready to PARTY!!

West Wickham, in the beautiful Kent countryside (15 minutes from the M25!)

Malcs and Rhona, Edinburgh (31/7/09)

Here's our entry for the competition - don't know if we can enter again, but what the hell. We had a laugh doing this. You're a new band now too, so maybe we are allowed?

The reason behind the pic? Brad has 2 bollocks, and we only hit one of them with a spoon last time. We're now ready for round two. Plus we've got a new flat that you haven't seen yet, so you're very welcome to come round.

Bye for now,

Malc and Rhona

Julia Colletta, Huddersfield (played 10/7/09)

You'll be delighted to hear that Lego have not only created Amy Winehouse, Madonna and Sir Cliff Richard minifigures, but Hope & Social ones too.

The Ed, Rich, Si and Jason minifigures are waiting in my living room for the real-life versions to come and play for them!

St Chads, Pateley Bridge (played 13/6/09)

There is no logical explanation for why I chose to take a photograph of a calf in my living room, other than I thought it would be funny. It was hoped you would notice the effort that was taken to produce this conceptual piece of art.

I had to wait until my parents were out, go out into the barn, pick up a calf then carry it into the house where 3 newspapers had been laid out over the carpet and new rug. They are yet to find out what happened that Wednesday afternoon.

Why you should play? Because it would be totally rad and there would be a bbq with lots of sausages (made from pigs on the farm).

.....and lastly, I live on a farm a couple of miles out from Pateley Bridge.

The Talbot, Chaddesley Corbett (played 5/6/09)

This is my house.

This is where I do my work.

You should come and play here - bcoz I've followed you around the country staying in stupid Travelodges etc.

Oh - and I run (and live in a pub)
